At the conference of INGOs, the Democracy, Social Cohesion and Global Issues Commission organized a meeting on Tuesday, June 26, from 2.30 pm to 6 pm at the Agora.
At this meeting, the topics dealt with by this committee were briefly recalled before starting the session on participatory democracy and women’s participation in political and public life.
The finding is unequivocal: while protecting the rights of women and the issue of parity are central to our thinking, the social division of labor does not allow women full access to political activities and access to high positions remains difficult. This participation is essential to allow the divergence of point of view and to guarantee parity. This meeting was an opportunity to debate this major issue.
